Update (and brief Hiatus Statement) Post

For those of you who follow this blog, I wanted to let you know that you won’t be seeing any updates here for the next week…most likely. There’s an outside shot that I may write something about the Legends Of Tomorrow finale (which I haven’t seen yet, but I’m sure I’ll have thoughts about when I do), but for the moment I want to focus on finishing up Episode 5 of Nine Tails AND getting on to my next writing project.

I also want to take some time to consider what I want to do with my content moving forward. I’ve come to realize that I’m not the biggest fan of dishing out writing advice on a weekly basis. This isn’t to say that I don’t ever want to write another writing advice article, but it’s not the sort of content I’m consistently passionate about. I’m really proud of some of my writing advice posts, but there are others I feel like I assembled quickly and were fairly uninspired in terms of their content.

The piece I recently had the most fun writing, and consequently one that has some of my highest views, was my post about Iron Fist. Whether or not you agree with my conclusions, diversity in fiction is something that I’m passionate about. Related to that, cultural myths and the types of societal values we circulate through our stories is also something of great interest to me. Moving forward, I will likely be writing more pieces handling these topics.

I will also, probably, be dropping back to tackling one piece of content per week. I’d prefer to spend more time on these articles to make them longer and better rather than cobbling together a few tips every Wednesday and then pushing a post out there. I want to make sure this content is both something I’m passionate about and of a higher quality, which means the articles will probably take a bit longer to write and research.

Anyway, it will be a week or so before I post again here, so this won’t be all too long a break, but I wanted to fill everyone in with what I was planning and why there wouldn’t be any content here for a bit.

Thanks for reading my previous works and following this blog. I’ll have more for you in the near future.
