The Ward

Earlier this week I went to the book release party and signing for my friend Jordana Frankel’s debut novel The Ward, which was held at the famous Books of Wonder in downtown Manhattan. I haven’t had a chance to read it yet, but I’m very excited about it. Not only is it written by someone I know, but the story sounds awesome. Set in a submerged futuristic New York City it focuses on a 16-year-old street racing champ named Renata “Ren” Dane who is struggling to save her foster sister from a sickness known only as The Blight.

Anyone who is looking for a good sci-fi Y.A. book should definitely check this one out (image links to the book’s Amazon page). I’m currently working my way through Hugh Howey’s Wool, but I plan to pick this up as soon as I’m done with that. You can check back in the near future for my thoughts, but in the meantime go get the book and support a fellow Goucher College author. Go Gophers!
